NU North Consultants Ltd. is a proudly Inuit-owned consulting company founded by Rebecca and David Penney, built on a shared commitment to supporting Nunavut through culturally grounded and community-focused services.

Rebecca Penney, an Inuk from Chesterfield Inlet, brings deep knowledge of Inuit language, culture, and community connections through her experience in education, cultural advising, and translation services. David Penney brings over 20 years of experience in education, government leadership, logistics, and project management, with a strong background coordinating large-scale training initiatives and conferences across Nunavut.

Together, we combine professional expertise with northern experience to deliver organized, respectful, and culturally responsive services that reflect the realities and priorities of Nunavummiut. Our mission is to help organizations build meaningful relationships, strengthen communication, and deliver projects that create lasting impact in communities across Nunavut.

Dave Penney

Senior Project Manager / Consultant

David brings more than 20 years of experience working in education, government, and project management across Nunavut. His background includes coordinating large-scale conferences, training initiatives, and northern logistics for government departments, educators, and community organizations. With expertise in project planning, stakeholder engagement, travel coordination, and event delivery, David specializes in ensuring projects are organized, efficient, and successfully delivered in remote northern environments.

Rebecca Penney

Inuit Language & Cultural Specialist / Translation Services

Rebecca Penney is an Inuk from Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut, with extensive experience in education, cultural advising, and Inuktitut translation services. Fluent in Inuktitut and English, she provides culturally grounded translation and bilingual communication support for government departments, conferences, training programs, and community initiatives. Rebecca’s strong community connections and deep understanding of Inuit culture help ensure projects and communications are respectful, accessible, and meaningful for Nunavummiut.
